There’s something quietly wonderful about stepping back into work after having a baby of your own — closing the door, coffee in hand, the gentle drive in silence while your own little is enjoying himself [and annoying his sisters] at home with his Dad. This session in Beaumaris felt like exactly what my heart needed: slow, warm, and full of trust.

Halfway through autumn, the air was crisp, the leaves were crunchy underfoot, and the light was just right. Alicia and Paul had only lived in their beautiful new home for a few months, but it already felt calm and well loved. We spent most of our time on a lovely tan leather couch in their front room — sunlight pouring through sheer curtains, softening everything like a dream.

Little D was an absolute star — perfectly sleepy, content, and happy to snuggle up for photos. Alicia and Paul took turns soaking her in while their older boy gradually warmed to my camera and the whole new-baby dance. We even stepped out into the backyard for a few photos in the morning sun — crunchy leaves, an entheaustic pup, and that golden light that always makes my heart skip!

Sessions like this remind me why I love in-home newborn photography so much. When parents trust the process and lean into the slow, the everyday magic shows up on its own.
